Zinemateka Azkuna Zentroa "Filmmakers of the Transition": "VÁMONOS BÁRBARA (1978)"
Azkuna Zentroa's Zinemateka screens Vámonos Bárbara (1978) by Cecilia Bartolomé as part of its season on filmmakers of the Spanish Transition (1976–1984). Amparo Soler Leal plays Ana, a Catalan advertising worker nearing 40 who, despite her family's objections, leaves her husband and drives off with her 12-year-old daughter Bárbara to her aunt's farmhouse, hoping to start a freer life. It was the first Spanish film to speak openly about women's emancipation and divorce. Screenings on Monday at 17:00 and Thursday at 19:00 at Golem Alhóndiga, Bilbao. Tickets: €5.
