Zinemateka Azkuna Zentroa "Filmmakers of the Transition": "EL CRIMEN DE CUENCA (1980)"
Azkuna Zentroa's Zinemateka screens El crimen de Cuenca by Pilar Miró as part of its series on filmmakers of Spain's Transition (1976–1984). The film revisits the case of two men from Osa de la Vega arrested in 1913 over the alleged death of a shepherd, who confessed under torture and were sentenced to eighteen years in prison. Censored under democracy, leading to its director's prosecution, it still competed at the 1980 Berlin Film Festival. Screenings at Golem Alhóndiga, Bilbao, on Monday at 19:30 and Thursday at 17:00. Tickets: 5 €.
