Xabier Erkizia: "Memoria de Montevideo"
A talk by Xabier Erkizia at the Museo San Telmo in San Sebastián on Memoria de Montevideo (1961), the only recorded musical composition left by sculptor Jorge Oteiza: a short, possibly unfinished poem captured on magnetic tape as a work of musique concrète. Drawing on an in-depth study of the original document and Oteiza's theories on sound, Erkizia explores the artist's sonic world and a piece with no equivalent in his sound archive.
