Guided tour: Mirandaola in operation
A guided tour of the Mirandaola ironworks, set in Mirandaola Park in Legazpi, where the work of 16th-century ironworkers is brought back to life. Visitors watch two giant bellows stoke the fire beyond 1,200 degrees and a 300-kilo hammer forge the iron. The visit ends with a tasting of the pintxo-ferrón: txistorra sausage grilled over embers, farmhouse bread and cider. Tours run at 11:30 and 12:30 on 11, 18 and 25 October. Tickets cost €8.50 for adults and €5 for children, and booking is required.
