Workshop 'La escritura a través de la Historia' | Science Week 2026

A free Science Week workshop at the Museo de San Isidro. Los Orígenes de Madrid on 7 November 2026 at 11:00. In an enjoyable, hands-on format, it traces how writing began and developed into the alphabets we use today, showing how different cultures created signs to represent ideas, objects and sounds. Through examples, visual materials and participatory activities, attendees will look at writing surfaces used over the centuries, such as clay, stone, papyrus, parchment and paper, along with the tools used to write on them, and will get to try out some of the oldest writing systems. Registration opens on 19 October.
