"Sorgina banaiz" (screening and discussion)

A screening of the documentary "Sorgina banaiz" at Arizkunenea - Casa de Cultura de Baztan, followed by a discussion with its director, Asisko Urmeneta. The film takes a historical and critical look at the witch hunts in the Basque Country, a persecution that began in 1525 and punished thousands of people accused of witchcraft. Combining footage, illustrations and expert commentary, it separates myth from fact, shows how fear and power worked together, and links those mechanisms of social control to the present day.
