Sona Flamenc

From 5 to 12 October, Tarragona hosts the 8th Sona Flamenc Festival, with a programme that especially highlights female talent. The line-up includes Rocío Molina, Las Migas and Cathy Claret, alongside local artists such as Azahar Tortajada and Jesús Blanco, who presents Compañero del alma. Over eight days, shows, dance and cajón workshops, open classes and family activities take place across different neighbourhoods, including a flashmob in Plaça Corsini, a gathering of flamenco schools and groups, and the family show Sin ojana. Teatre Tarragona hosts an exhibition of nearly 300 vinyl and cassette covers devoted to new flamenco. The festival also marks anniversaries of Escola Art i Flamenc and Tablao La Herrería. Some events are paid.
