Centro Cultural Galileo (Chamberí) organises a circular hike of about 12 kilometres around the La Jarosa reservoir in Guadarrama, known as the Ruta de las Ermitas de la Jarosa. The route runs through pine forests, forest tracks and mountain paths, passing historic structures of the former Way of the Cross of Cuelgamuros, with around 1,500 steps along the way. It is of medium difficulty, with roughly 340 metres of elevation change, and lasts about three and a half hours. Recommended for ages 7 and up with basic hiking experience. Starts on 17 October 2026 at 17:00. Free while places last, with priority for registered Chamberí residents. Registration opens 9 October at 9:00.
