International Romantic Organ Cycle 2026 programme

The 27th International Romantic Organ Cycle offers ten concerts in October in the parish churches of Azkoitia and Bergara and at the Basilica of Loiola. It is organised by the town councils of Bergara, Azpeitia and Azkoitia with the Fray Joseph Echevarria association and support from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa. In Azkoitia, recitals take place on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th at 8 pm: violinist Miriam Hontana and organist Daniel Oyarzabal open with works by Vivaldi, Mussorgsky, Brahms and Beethoven, among others; then soprano Olatz Saitua with organist Xabier Urtasun, and French organist Erwan Leprado, replacing Stephen Tharp. Students of the Bergara Music School close the cycle. Azpeitia hosts concerts on Fridays and Bergara on Sundays.
