"Ombuaren itzala"

Screening of the film Ombuaren itzala, directed by Patxi Bisquert and produced in the Basque Country. It tells the story of poet and bertsolari Pello Mari Otaño, who first fled to Argentina to avoid military service. Falling ill at 33, he returned to Gipuzkoa, met and married Madalen Alberdi, and settled in Donostia. He stood out for his poetry in several literary competitions, but unable to sustain his family and his liberal, republican and pro-fueros convictions, he left for Argentina for good with his wife and three children. The screening takes place at Herri Antzokia in Legorreta on 20 November 2026 at 18:30.
