Narratives of the fantastic (2026-2027): "Babel" (R.F. Kuang)
A session of the Narratives of the fantastic book club devoted to "Babel" by R.F. Kuang, a novel set in 1828 at an Oxford translation institute where silver-based magic underpins the power of the British Empire, and whose hero, a Cantonese orphan, must choose between the institution and resistance. The discussion, held in Spanish, Basque and English, is led by the HEVENDAY Association and the EHU/UPV comparative literature research team TR42872. It takes place on 3 November 2026 at 19:00 in the Orisol room of the Casa de Cultura Ignacio Aldecoa in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Admission is free.
