Cinema Wednesdays: "Fandango"
Screening of the Spanish documentary "Fandango" (2024), directed by Remedios Malvárez and Arturo Andújar, as part of the Viernes Flamencos series. The film travels through the province of Huelva to explore how fandango was preserved there and became a flamenco style with its own identity, from its origins to today's trends. It features Rocío Márquez, who also wrote the music, Arcángel, Sandra Carrasco and Perlita de Huelva, among others. It won audience awards at the Huelva and Córdoba festivals and two Carmen Awards.
