The Water Channels of Madrid. Visit to the Amaniel Water Galleries
A free guided tour starting at Dehesa de la Villa that explores the Amaniel water channel, a 17th-century hydraulic system that once supplied water to part of Madrid. Participants will learn what a capirote is and what it was used for, then step into the underground galleries where the water flowed to see each of their features. Open to adults over 18, the tour lasts about 2 hours and begins on 27 December 2026 at 11:00. It is organised by the Centro de Información y Educación Ambiental de Dehesa de la Villa. Registration opens one month before the activity.
