La Ruta del Arte BBK: "Animalario"
The seventh edition of La Ruta del Arte BBK stops in Amorebieta-Etxano from 2 to 8 November 2026 with Animalario, an outdoor touring exhibition of panels reproducing 38 works from the museum's collection in which animals take centre stage. Curated by José Luis Merino Gorospe, the selection spans painting, printmaking, posters, photography and applied arts, featuring artists such as Jacob Jordaens, Ignacio Zuloaga, Rosa Bonheur, Richard Avedon, Guerrilla Girls and Joseph Beuys, and explores the symbolic and allegorical role of animals in art. Commentaries on each work in Basque and Spanish, plus an English version, can be downloaded free via a QR code.
