From 26 October to 1 November 2026, Basauri hosts the seventh edition of La Ruta del Arte BBK, an open-air travelling exhibition titled Animalario. Its panels reproduce 38 works from the museum's collection in which animals play a central, symbolic role, spanning painting, printmaking, posters, photography and applied arts by artists such as Paul de Vos, Jacob Jordaens, Ignacio Zuloaga, Rosa Bonheur, Richard Avedon, Guerrilla Girls and Joseph Beuys. It is curated by José Luis Merino Gorospe. Each work comes with commentary in Basque and Spanish, also downloadable in English via a QR code.
