La Ruta del Arte BBK: "Animalario"
The seventh edition of La Ruta del Arte BBK comes to Mungia from 23 to 29 November 2026 with Animalario, a travelling outdoor exhibition of panels reproducing 38 works from the museum's collection in which animals take centre stage. Curated by José Luis Merino Gorospe, it brings together painting, printmaking, posters, photography and applied arts by artists including Paul de Vos, Jacob Jordaens, Ignacio Zuloaga, Rosa Bonheur, Richard Avedon, Guerrilla Girls and Joseph Beuys, exploring the symbolic role of animals in art. Commentaries on each work in Basque, Spanish and English can be downloaded free via a QR code.
