La Ruta del Arte BBK: "Animalario"
From 30 November to 9 December 2026, Durango hosts the seventh edition of La Ruta del Arte BBK, a travelling open-air exhibition that moves from town to town. Titled Animalario, it displays faithful panel reproductions of 38 works from the museum's collection in which animals take centre stage, by artists such as Paul de Vos, Jacob Jordaens, Ignacio Zuloaga, Rosa Bonheur, Richard Avedon, Guerrilla Girls and Joseph Beuys. Curated by José Luis Merino Gorospe, it explores the symbolic meaning of animals across painting, printmaking, posters, photography and applied arts. Each work comes with commentary in Basque and Spanish, and an English version can be downloaded free via a QR code.
