La Ruta del Arte BBK: "Animalario"
The seventh edition of La Ruta del Arte BBK, titled Animalario, comes to Ugao-Miraballes from 12 to 18 October 2026. This travelling open-air exhibition displays high-fidelity panel reproductions of 38 works from the museum's collection in which animals take centre stage: painting, printmaking, posters, photography and applied arts by artists such as Jacob Jordaens, Ignacio Zuloaga, Rosa Bonheur, Richard Avedon, Guerrilla Girls and Joseph Beuys. Curated by José Luis Merino Gorospe, the selection explores the symbolic and allegorical meaning of animals in art. Each work comes with commentary in Basque and Spanish, plus an English version available free via QR code.
