The Art Route
Now in its nineteenth year, the Ruta de l'Art in Castelló d'Empúries turns the streets, houses, palaces and historic buildings of this old county town into venues for contemporary art. Artists present their work to visitors in person, and the Mercat d'Art lets the public buy pieces, mainly small-format, directly from the exhibitors. Runs 9–12 October 2026: on Friday 9 spaces and the market open at 4 pm, with the opening ceremony at the Basilica of Santa Maria at 8 pm; Saturday and Sunday 11 am to 9 pm; Monday 12, 11 am to 5 pm. Paid event.
