The work in its context: "La memoria de las copias"

A talk from the La obra en su contexto series at the Museo de Reproducciones de Bilbao, given by Itziar Martija, the museum's head of collections. It introduces the temporary exhibition "Bizitza Paraleloak. La memoria de las copias", linked to the European Heritage Days, through three themes: works known only through copies, such as the Hildesheim Krater; pieces whose museum display has changed over time, such as the Winged Victory of Samothrace, whose reproductions preserve states no longer visible; and reproductions used for research.
