The young Aïda
A reimagining of Verdi’s Aida at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, recommended for ages 8 and up. Young Aina, inside a virtual world, takes on the conflicts and emotions of the opera’s characters, prompting reflection on where reality ends and fiction begins. The arrangements blend the original score with new compositions, while a technological staging with the retrofuturist look of early video games revisits the set Josep Mestres Cabanes designed in 1945. Directed by Jordi Casanovas, created with Marian Márquez and Onionlab. Performances on Saturday 3, Sunday 4 and Saturday 10 October at 11 am, lasting about one hour, with surtitles. Price: €10.
