La Jota del abuelo, by Julián Olivares
A documentary concert blending images, music and words to retrace the life of Julián Olivares Leal, based on research in archives in Salamanca, Ávila, Madrid and the United Kingdom, and in abandoned Legion barracks in Morocco. His personal story becomes a way of telling the history of Spain and Europe in the 20th century, as well as an exercise in family memory. The music, inspired by the grandfather's guitar playing, spans milonga, guajira, chotis, pasodoble, waltz and tanguillos. Recommended for ages 16 and up. Free admission at Centro Cultural Antonio Machado (San Blas - Canillejas), Madrid, on 10 October 2026 at 19:00.
