"Karmele"
Free screening of "Karmele", a film written and directed by Asier Altuna, adapted from Kirmen Uribe's novel "Elkarrekin esnatzeko ordua". In 1937, Karmele and her family are driven from their home by war and go into exile in France. There she joins the Basque cultural embassy in exile, which fights the war through dance and music performances, and falls in love with Txomin, a professional trumpet player. After living in Venezuela for a time, the couple return home hoping to recover what was taken from them. Cast: Jone Laspiur, Eneko Sagardoy, Nagore Aranburu and Javier Barandiaran. Two screenings, at 10:15 and 17:45, at Centro Cultural Izaskun Arrue – Gasteiz Antzokia in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
