Jimpa
Cineteca Madrid screens Jimpa (2025), the fourth feature by Australian filmmaker Sophie Hyde, as part of the International Competition. Hannah takes her non-binary teenager Frances to Amsterdam to visit Jim, the gay grandfather everyone calls Jimpa. When Frances wants to stay abroad with him for a year, Hannah is forced to rethink her ideas about parenting and face old wounds. Hyde, whose earlier work includes 52 Tuesdays, Animals and Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, premiered the film at Sundance. Paid admission.
