Zarautz Gau Beltza 2026: "Beldurrak piztu, iluntasunak bizi!"
Zarautz celebrates Gau Beltza, the "black night" marked in the Basque Country around 31 October, with hollowed-out pumpkins and lit candles. Towns across the region are reinventing the festivity to revive old customs, echoing the traditional rhyme "Xanduli manduli kirrikiki, eman jatekoa guri". The celebration takes place on 31 October 2026 at 19:00, and admission is free.
