Vitoria-Gasteiz International Theatre Festival 2026: "The Common Ground"
As part of the Vitoria-Gasteiz International Theatre Festival 2026, Madrid-based Brazilian choreographer Poliana Lima presents The Common Ground, a piece for six dancers. Four of them are migrants in Spain and two are Spanish, each bringing a distinct cultural heritage. Through fictional choreography drawing on the fantastic, the mythical and the monstrous, the work explores how bodies shaped by different cultures can share a stage, and how the violence of power turns others into monsters. The performance takes place on 5 November 2026, from 19:30 to 20:40, at Teatro Jesús Ibáñez de Matauco. Please note: strobe lighting and loud passages are used.
