Vitoria-Gasteiz International Theatre Festival 2026: "Leonora"
Part of the Vitoria-Gasteiz International Theatre Festival 2026, Leonora is a poetic, free-form portrait of surrealist painter, sculptor and writer Leonora Carrington, focusing on her youth and her time in Spain just after the Civil War. Drawing on her memoir Memorias de abajo, the play explores the birth of an artistic calling, psychiatric violence and imagination, rather than attempting a biography. The performance runs on 12 December 2026 from 19:30 to 20:30 at Félix Petite Antzokia, with tickets at 18 €.
