Santurtzi Theatre Festival 2026: "El invencible verano de Liliana"
As part of the Santurtzi Theatre Festival 2026, the company Tresillo presents this 80-minute monologue performed by Mexican actress Cecilia Suárez, written by Amaranta Osorio and directed by Juan Carlos Fisher. It adapts Cristina Rivera Garza's book, winner of the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Memoir and Autobiography, about her sister Liliana, a young university student killed by her ex-boyfriend in 1990. Drawing on Liliana's own diaries and notes, the piece weaves testimony and memory into a tribute to her and a reflection on violence against women.
