Painting exhibition in memory of Merceditas Fernández Asenjo
The Centro Cultural Lope de Vega in Puente de Vallecas, Madrid, hosts a painting exhibition from 9 to 15 October 2026 honouring Merceditas Fernández, a cheerful, affectionate woman with Down syndrome who loved visiting art exhibitions. She took up painting about 14 years ago at the art workshop of the Gil Gayarre Foundation and later at the Talleres de Azul de Cadmio. Her use of colour and brushwork developed gradually, and the show brings together part of her extensive output. Open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 21:30, except public holidays. Free admission.
