Exhibition "Cinema and Democratic Memory"
The Arxiu Històric de Lleida hosts an exhibition tracing the Franco dictatorship and the anti-Franco resistance in chronological order through posters of films about the Civil War, the post-war years, repression, the maquis guerrillas and the struggle for democratic freedoms. It also highlights the film poster as a 20th-century promotional and artistic tool, a graphic heritage that has nearly vanished. Two talks by Ramon Herrera on film censorship accompany it: on 5 October at 7 pm, with a guided tour, and on 9 October at 7 pm, focusing on the Transition. Open 1 to 30 October, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 2 pm. Free admission.
