Euskadiko Orkestra 2026/27: "Prokofiev / Schumann"

The Euskadiko Orkestra performs at the Conservatorio de Música Jesús Guridi in Vitoria-Gasteiz with a programme contrasting Schumann's romantic reverie and Prokofiev's irony. It features the overture to Genoveva, Schumann's only opera, and his Symphony No. 4, a cyclic work whose motifs return transformed. At its centre is Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1, moving between fairy-tale atmosphere and rhythmic sarcasm, with Japanese violinist Akiko Suwanai as soloist. Philipp von Steinaecker, a co-founder of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, conducts. The concert takes place on 2 February 2027, from 19:30 to 20:30.
