Euskadiko Orkestra 2026/27: "Mahler 6: Tragic"
The Euskadiko Orkestra performs Mahler's Sixth Symphony, known as the "Tragic", conducted by Pablo González, former principal conductor of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya and the RTVE Symphony Orchestra. Although written during a happy period of Mahler's life, it is his darkest work: around 79 minutes driven by the idea of fate, with a relentless march, the "Alma theme", a sarcastic scherzo, a nostalgic andante featuring cowbells, and a finale crowned by the famous hammer blows. The concert takes place on 27 April 2027, from 19:30 to 20:50, at the Conservatorio de Música Jesús Guridi in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
