Euskadiko Orkestra 2026/27: "MAHLER 6: TRAGIKOA"
The Euskadiko Orkestra performs Mahler's Symphony No. 6, known as the "Tragic", a roughly 79-minute work written during a happy period of the composer's life yet strikingly dark. From a relentless march rhythm and the "Alma theme" to a sarcastic scherzo, a nostalgic andante with cowbells and a vast finale with its famous hammer blows, the symphony moves through extreme emotions. Conducting is Pablo González, former principal conductor of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya and the RTVE Symphony Orchestra. The concert takes place on 28 April 2027 at 19:30 at the Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao. Tickets go on sale on 1 September.
