Euskadiko Orkestra 2026/27: "Bartok / Shostakovich"

Euskadiko Orkestra closes its 2026/27 season at the Conservatorio de Música Jesús Guridi in Vitoria-Gasteiz on 25 May 2027, from 19:30 to 20:45, conducted by Bulgarian Delyana Lazarova, winner of the Siemens Hallé International Competition. The programme opens with María Luisa Ozaita's Siciliana, honouring the composer ten years after her death. Pianist Josu de Solaun then performs Bartok's Piano Concerto No. 2, with its almost percussive writing. The evening ends with Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, premiered in 1937 and seen by many as a veiled denunciation of Stalinist terror.
