Euskadiko Orkestra 2026/27: "Aita Donostia: La vie profonde de Saint François d'Assise"
The Euskadiko Orkestra revives Aita Donostia's largest and longest work: the incidental music the San Sebastián friar and composer wrote for Henri Ghéon's play about Saint Francis of Assisi, premiered in Paris in 1926 to mark the seventh centenary of the saint's death. The score blends spirituality, luminous choral writing, Basque folk roots and ideas from the interwar Parisian avant-garde. Ernest Martínez Izquierdo conducts, joined by tenor Luken Munguira and the Easo and Easo Gazte choirs. The concert takes place on 11 November 2026 at 19:30 at the Auditorio Baluarte in Pamplona; tickets go on sale on 1 September.
