Euskadiko Orkestra 2026/27: "Aita Donostia: La vie profonde de Saint François d'Assise"
The Euskadiko Orkestra revives at the Kursaal in San Sebastián the largest and longest work Aita Donostia ever wrote: his incidental music for Henri Ghéon's play about Saint Francis of Assisi, premiered in Paris in 1926 to mark the 700th anniversary of the saint's death. The score blends meditative spirituality, radiant choral writing, Basque folk roots and ideas from the interwar Parisian avant-garde. Ernest Martínez Izquierdo conducts, joined by tenor Luken Munguira and the Easo and Easo Gazte choirs. Performances at 7:30 pm between 6 and 9 November 2026; tickets from €10.
Also in: Bilbao.
