Euskadiko Orkestra 2026/27: "Aita Donostia: La vie profonde de Saint François d’Assise"
The Euskadiko Orkestra revives Aita Donostia’s Illustrations musicales pour La vie profonde de Saint François d’Assise, his largest-scale work: incidental music for a play by Henri Ghéon premiered in Paris in 1926 to mark the seventh centenary of Saint Francis’s death. Lasting about 66 minutes, the score blends spirituality, luminous choral writing, Basque folk roots and ideas from the interwar Parisian avant-garde. Ernest Martínez Izquierdo conducts, joined by tenor Luken Munguira and the choirs Easo Abesbatza and Easo Gazte. The concert takes place on 10 November 2026, from 19:30 to 20:40, at the Conservatorio de Música Jesús Guridi in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
