Written on the Wind

Cineteca Madrid screens Douglas Sirk's Written on the Wind, a melodrama about the complete breakdown of an enormously wealthy family, told through constant twists and a lavish, almost operatic visual style. The screening belongs to a series connected to Warren Sonbert, who admired Sirk's ability to expose the cracks in bourgeois life without reducing his characters to heroes or villains. The film will be introduced by series curators Francisco Algarín and Carlos Saldaña. Taking place on 18 October 2026; tickets are paid.
