Encuentros de Pamplona 2026: "Theatre and Life", Victoria Szpunberg
As part of Encuentros de Pamplona 2026, playwright Victoria Szpunberg talks with Hispanist Helena Buffery about tragedy, the genre that emerged in Athens 2,500 years ago alongside theatre and democracy, and how its reflections on exile, identity and belonging still speak to the present. Szpunberg won the 2026 Max Award for Best Playwriting for La tercera fuga and the 2025 National Prize for Dramatic Literature for El imperativo categórico. The session takes place on 11 October 2026 at 17:00 at Auditorio Baluarte in Pamplona, and admission is free.
