Orchestral Conducting Meetings 2026

Bilbao Musika holds the eleventh edition of its Orchestral Conducting Meetings from 19 to 22 January 2027, combining specialised training with the Bilbao Musika International Conducting Prize, open to conductors born from 1991 onwards. Up to ten active students will work with the Banda Municipal de Bilbao, guided by guest teacher Lorenzo Della Fonte and coordinator José R. Pascual-Vilaplana. The semi-final and final are open to the public, and on 22 January the three finalists will conduct the closing concert at the Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga Conservatory. Three workshops open to anyone interested in conducting also run on 19, 20 and 21 January, costing 100 euros and including a certificate of attendance.
