Dirdir 2026: Amorante: "Los Pájaros"
As part of the Dirdir 2026 festival, Amorante, the project of Gipuzkoan ethnomusicologist and multi-instrumentalist Iban Urizar, performs a live score to Alfred Hitchcock's "Los Pájaros" (The Birds, USA, 1963, 119 minutes, original version with Spanish subtitles). Using trumpet, mixing pedals, Indian harmonium and a small synthesizer, and singing in Basque, he reworks a film whose original soundtrack Bernard Herrmann created with a trautonium, heightening its tension. The screening takes place on 12 December 2026 at 20:00 at Arkabia, Vitoria-Gasteiz. Tickets: 10 €.
