Francisco Escudero International Accordion Composition Competition 2026
Closing ceremony and concert of the international accordion composition competition run by Hauspoz, the Basque accordion association founded in 1974. On Sunday 11 October at 12:30 at Sala Modelo in Zarautz, last edition's winning works will receive their premieres: El olor de la guayaba by Fran Barajas, Lunga by Cristoffer Haard and S0mming on checkered bellows by Cristovao Almeida, performed by artists including Alejandro Arbués and the trio of Bela Brichzin, Núria López and Yadira Peláez. The Musikene Akordeoi Ensemble, conducted by Marko Sevarlic, closes with works by Dvorak and Aragüés. This edition received 125 works from 48 countries. Free admission.
