Concert by Ferrández, González-Monjas and Musikkollegium Winterthur

On 11 January 2027 at 8 pm, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona hosts cellist Pablo Ferrández performing Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto, written in 1918. He is joined by the Musikkollegium Winterthur conducted by Roberto González-Monjas, music director of the Sinfónica de Galicia and principal conductor of the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg. The programme also features the Spanish premiere of Caprice à l’espagnole by Richard Dubugnon and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5 “Reformation”, composed to celebrate the 16th-century religious reforms in Germany. The concert is part of the Pau Casals Year commemoration. Paid admission.
