Cerro Garabitas
A circular hike of about 10 kilometres with moderate elevation gain through Madrid's Casa de Campo, exploring the park's recent history in the 20th and 21st centuries. The route visits the remains of vanished sites such as the Torrecilla church, the employees' cemetery and old threshing floors, along with bunkers, trenches and other traces of the Spanish Civil War, ending at Cerro Garabitas, the park's great viewpoint. Aimed at participants aged 12 and over, it takes place on 12 December 2026 from 10:00 to 14:00. It is free and organised by the Centro de Información y Educación Ambiental de Casa de Campo; prior registration is required.
