Celebrating the Lliure — 50 years of the Teatre Lliure
On 28 November 2026 at 7 pm, Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu hosts a concert marking fifty years of the Teatre Lliure. Josep Pons, founder of the now-defunct Orquestra del Teatre Lliure, conducts the Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu in a programme recalling that orchestra's repertoire: a suite from Kurt Weill's Mahagonny, Falla's El amor brujo in its 1925 version, and excerpts from Mozart's The Magic Flute and Lehár's The Merry Widow. Featuring flamenco singer Maria Toledo, soprano Marcelina Román, baritone Carles Pachon and actress Muntsa Alcañiz. Tickets range from €15 to €155.
