BAFFEST 2026: "Ancestras maestras", exhibition by Rocío Bueno

As part of the Baffest 2026 festival, the Casa de Cultura Clara Campoamor in Barakaldo hosts this free exhibition by visual artist and photographer Rocío Bueno from 9 October to 9 November 2026. The project brings back into view women creators of the 19th and 20th centuries pushed to the margins of history, through twelve cards inspired by the game of happy families and devoted to pioneering women photographers. Their archive portraits are overlaid with natural elements that cling to the faces like new skin, evoking memory, the passing of time and lasting legacy. Bueno's work explores archive imagery, gender and memory.
