"Babel-17. Basque Hyperstition Factory"
An event at Museo San Telmo in San Sebastián bringing together a short film screening, a dialogue and a collective performance to rethink the discourses and narratives surrounding the Basque language and its speaker community. It draws on the idea of hyperstition, a fiction able to make itself real, and uses Samuel R. Delany's 1966 science fiction novel Babel-17 as its guiding thread to explore the future of Basque through different parameters. It takes place on 27 November 2026 at 18:00, and admission is free.
