"Arturo Ui eta bere gorakada jasanezina" (premiere)
Pabellón 6's new Gazte Konpainia (Youth Company) premieres its Basque-language version of Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao. Set in a gangster-ridden Bilbao, the story follows how a corrupt deal between the Potato Consortium oligarchs and Mayor Canino becomes the ladder for the ambitions of Arturo Ui, a stand-in for Hitler. Adapted and directed by Galder Irusta, with the Basque version by Patxo Telleria, this ensemble-driven, dynamic production examines the rise of fascism. Performed in Basque on 3 March 2027 at 19:30. Tickets: €18.
