"Arriagaren Aterkia" (premiere)
Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao hosts the premiere of Arriagaren Aterkia, a poetic musical co-produced with the Sociedad Coral de Bilbao. Inspired by the imagined discovery of an umbrella and forgotten scores belonging to Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, the 'Basque Mozart', it follows a character through childhood to old age under Bilbao's rain, with nods to the estuary, shipyards and the city's towing women. Music by Nerea Alberdi and Aitor Etxebarria, libretto by Leire Bilbao, stage direction by Ane Pikaza, featuring over a hundred young singers. In Basque with Spanish surtitles. Saturday 17 October at 18:00 and Sunday at 12:00. Tickets: €11 / €21.
