ABAO Bilbao Opera: "La Traviata"
Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata opens the 75th season of ABAO Bilbao Opera (2026/2027) at the Palacio Euskalduna. Soprano Jessica Pratt (Violetta) and tenor Javier Camarena (Alfredo) lead the cast, with Gabriele Viviani as Giorgio Germont. Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts the Euskadiko Orkestra and the Coro de Ópera de Bilbao. The staging is Mario Pontiggia's production from Teatro Massimo in Palermo, set in the belle époque with Art Nouveau and Art Deco references. A melodrama in three acts about a Parisian courtesan's impossible love. Performances run from 17 to 26 October 2026, at 19:00 or 19:30. Tickets from €29 to €300.
